Home lesson procedures

Before the commencement of each swimming lesson, the pool and enclosed area are to be checked for safety by a parent. Potentially dangerous obstacles or wildlife are to be removed from the water before the commencement of each lesson by the parent.

Parents, pool owners are to check for correct chlorination and water quality, which must be of a level which the teacher views to be suitable.

In the case where more than one child is participating in a swim class and each child receives individual attention the following requirements exist:

  • Parental supervision in the pool area is required;
  • Swimmers waiting for their turn must sit on the top steps and not move off these steps under any circumstances. This is to be made clear by both the teacher and parents.
  • No running within the pool area.
  • Diving or jumping into the pool is only to take place in the deep end of the pool under the teacher’s supervision.
  • Please make sure you speak to us regarding wearing goggles before the class.
  • Please remember to discuss any medical or concerns you have regarding your infant/child which relate to those being in the water for a swimming lesson.
  • In regards to COVID-19, we follow all the guidelines set by www.qld.gov.au if you have any questions about this please contact us.

Children are required to leave the pool and the pool area with the pool gate closed following each lesson.

Each pool is to display CPR signage and comply with council regulations following the current Swimming Pools Act.

In the case of a thunderstorm or any electrical activity, swimming lessons are to be immediately suspended.

We want to make sure your swimming and water safety experience is a fun, educational and enjoyable experience.
