Swimming Lessons for Children

Private one-on-one swimming lessons can help children gain independence in the water. We may not all have the confidence or water skills, or perhaps we have not had a good experience in the water. Some children find participating in groups or with many other people around challenging.

Teaching water safety, moving in water and swimming is my passion, it is knowing what works for each individual that matters. Understanding that each child learns at their own pace, in their own time, through having an understanding, caring, trusting teacher.

We specialize in working with fearful children to develop their comfort and confidence in the water. We understand that the aquatic environment can be scary, so why not offer swimming lessons in the comfort of your child’s surroundings until they can join group lessons?

Every session is tailored to the individual needs of each swimmer. We know that each child develops physically and emotionally at different rates and will be ready for different skills at other times, so we tailor the lesson to suit your child, no matter their ability. Lessons are adjusted to the condition and ability of the swimmer/child and hence adapted to their daily functioning goals. We like to work with the family, find out what your aquatic needs and objectives are for your child and grow from there. Maybe it is gaining confidence in and around the pool at home and beyond the home or learning basic strokes.

We offer you a tailored aquatic experience for you and your child.

Over the years, I have taught using various methods to assist various children with Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Autism, Down syndrome, spina bifida, and chronic conditions in moving in water and swimming. If you are seeking a trained, experienced person to assist your child in water, we would love to help.

Try us; let us bring the joy back into enjoying the water.

What better way to offer a fun bonding activity with water familiarisation and play?  We provide tips and advice on how to water condition your baby and prepare them for an aquatic journey. Whilst no swimming program can ‘Drown proof’ an infant, a progressive water conditioning program can provide you and your infant with skills that will assist in building a foundation of sensory and movement in the water.  These early introduction classes will equip you and your family with the skills and confidence to enjoy the water. Having some at-home lessons is a great way to give you the confidence to know what type of hold to use, how and when to encourage floating and why, when they used to float, they can’t anymore. Or dislike floating? And how to submerge your bub and learn to teach bub breathing. Then, join a group and enjoy group swim classes’ within a social setting.

Note: For home Bub swimming lessons, the water must be warm (with a warm environment) as they are not moving as much.
